MINDFUL BREAKS
Emily fontana yoga
Emily is a London based Yoga teacher, born and raised in Italy where she dedicated over 12 years of her life to horses and show jumping competitions.
When she moved to London, she missed the discipline and mind-body connection that horse riding gave her, until she found Yoga.
She does not have a background in dance or gymnastics, and she's never been "the bendy one" nor "the dancing queen" - in fact, quite the opposite. So if you think Yoga is not for you because you can't touch your toes, she will make you re-think that!
For Emily, Yoga represents a moment of internal withdrawal and stillness from a racing mind through breath control, mindful movement and flowing energy; a way to focus on the present moment and let go of anything that has happened or that the future holds.
She honours her role to hold a sacred space for her students, where they can feel safe in their own body and emotions. Emily guides without judgment and expectations and shares bites of yogic knowledge.
In her classes you can expect to move consciously, breathe deeply, challenge your ego and let go of the most superficial layers to connect with what is deep inside yourself.
Emily's favourite styles to practice and teach are Vinyasa Flow (moving from one pose to the other connecting one breath to one movement), and Mandala Vinyasa (a creative and fluid style of Vinyasa built to flow around the mat 360 degrees and based on the Pancha Mahabuthas or the 5 Great Elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Ether).
